Myanmar Travel - The preparing Part 4, Currency Exchange

: It's very nuisance... Yes, preparation never ends... I know.. I came to know that... from this travel. Just with Korean won, I wish everything be fine.... But in reality, I have to exchange Korean won into Dollars before I go abroad. This is where the agencies stand for...

This is another reason why we want to be rich...

 Conclusion

 1. If you want to change money into Kyat, you'd better have dollars... But Thai batt is also OK. If you bring other currencies such as Korean won, British Pound... it is not easy to get Kyat...

 2. If you transfer from Bangkok, you can exchange Korean won into Dollars or batt at the bangkok airport.

 3. Without cash, if you bring your credit card, you can extract Kyat there.. No worries. Of course there is a handling fee for that... Anyway there is a way...

 4. But currently, the country changes fast... therefore this time you may be able to exchange your money into Kyat without dollars....

 5. If you try to exchange other currency into Dollars... it go through two steps... first the foreign currency into Korean won and then into dollars.

I came to exchange the money in Korea

: If I had much Korean won, it won't be that difficult... but... I had GBP.... And then I extracted my pound and then I planned to check if it is possible to exchange GBP into Dollars or Kyat there directly.... It found out to be not feasible there....

Additional information on the March 23 2016(Kookmin Bank)

 - With Foreign currency but Dollars, you are going to exchange the money two times... (for example, GBP -> KRW -> USD). This also applies in case of wire transfer.

 - You can extract your GBP in cash(Other currencies also possible but it's possible when the bank has the cash). The handling fee about 1% . -> I plan to bring small amount of GBP.

 - The exchange rate of wire transfer is different from that of cash(Wire transfer rate is better than cash rate). According to the teller there, there was just slight different between extracting GBP cash and exchanging GBP into Dollars.

 - Depositing foreign currencies except dollars costs you a fee for that.

 - If you exchange your money more than 300 dollars, you can subscribe traveller's insurance... of course the coverage will be different according to the exchange amount.

If you are going to exchange KWR into USD, it's very easy. Even there is a very convenient service you can get the money from the airport.... after applying the currency exchange on the Internet.

It's called, Network exchange

It's possible to use 24 hours

It's extracted from your bank account

문의 전화...로 직접 물어 봤다. 외화에서 외화로는 안된단다.

: Yes, they made it.... very convenient... In theory, currency exchange should be directly.. from currency to currency but it's not... They charge % money from it... Damn...
