: B&B, bed & breakfast is a good place for staying with a cheap price. They provide bed and breakfast...which means they provide some basic things. I stayed a guesthouse called, 'Bahodir', which is the name of the owner or owner's son(I don't remember exactly). They were kind. And the breakfast was not bad.

There are many lodging facilities around the Registan. It seems to me that they make a living through the travel business.

Here you are required to register your staying place. The owner did all the service required just if you give your passport.

This is for 3 persons but only I used it.

2	Market and the streets

The old buildings are mixed with modern buildings and living facilities. It seemed to me that the locals don't care about the old buildings much.

: Travel, tour what's the meaning to me or to us? What we get from touring or travelling? Finding myself? finding a meaning of a life? I've met people who are indulged in traveling... What makes them travel...?

From what I heard from them, I could see any special reason for traveling... Yes, I have to travel alot to understand...that...

The Gur Amir means tomb for kings. It's the place where Sha Luk, Miran Sha, Ulugbek and Muhammad Sultan lie. And also it's the place where lots of local visitors come for praying...

: f you are not interested in it, it's invisible. The more you know, the better you see. Yes, that's right. Many things were not visible. And after a while I lived, I could see things... Samarkand would be interesting place to someone who are very interested in architecture. Samarkand is a kind of symbol for the magnificence of Islamic culture and the silk road. But to me, it's just one of the old buildings.

The name came from the word "asmara", a Persian meaning 'stone' and the "kand", a Sogdiana meaning 'nation', which means 'Stone Nation'. The population is about 412,300 in 2005 according to a statistics.
