 Traveling route of Daegu City

It was better than I expected to be. What I liked more about Daegu was the "modern street" and "Yakryeongsi"(Korean medicine street).

When I visited, there were several festivals going on in Daegu. It was the Colorful Daegu Festival and Yakryeongsi Festival.

2

Major factors of the route change...

: My stamina and the festivals

 Two Festivals

 1. Colorful Daegu Festival

 2. Daegu Yakryeongsi Korean medicine culture festival

The suggested routes by officials

Among them, what I liked most... the 2nd one, called 'Modern Street' course.

Along the course, I could visit the Yakryeongsi Festival... From this event, I came to know that there were only two Yakyreongsi(Korea medicine specialized market) in Korea. One is in Seoul and the other is in Daegu. And it has really long history.

The following is the file of the courses... you can download by clicking on it but only Korean version available.

  • Disappointing than I expected... - Manjanggool(Manjang Cave), Part 2

Manjanggul, a long cave in Jeju... naturally made... And I expected to see many stalactites with many shapes.

    1

     Manjanggul

     Entrance Fee: 2,000 won

Cave, the length is about 7.4 km. Lava cave. It was made about several hundred thousands years ago... And there are just few caves where the inner shape and rocks are well preserved.

FYI, only Manjanggul is open... the other caves are closed such as Kimnyeonggul and so on.

    Location

The entrance fee is just 2,000 won.. If it is above 5,000 won, I wouldn't enter. It's very cool and very dark inside. Because of the darkness, there were so many blind parts which I couldn't see properly.

According to an explanation, to preserve this, they lowered the brightness of illumination. This is one of the reasons I didn't like the cave... There were so many place not visible.

    2

     Inside cave

:  Because of the camera lens, the brightness is better... but actually it's darker than in the picture.

: Somewhat good place to take a good picture with illumination.... There are several spots to see but not that special to me...

: It's very long... took me about 30 minutes going and returning...

Only one bus coming and going from here. 711-1 bus. I guess usually tourists here borrow a car therefore less people use a bus.. I hope more people use public transportation....

There is a small museum about this cave before arriving at the entrance of the cave... you'd better get some information before going in...

Detailed information you can find here...

     Manjanggul Museum

: So detailed. Inside of the cave, there are living creatures and different kinds of stalactites. They are all well explained on the panels which you can find in the museum.
