Less value per price than other museums, - Samsunghyeol

It is about a legend of start of Jeju island with three Gods. And this was not that big museum or some place worth visiting with money...

1

 Samsunghyeol

Entrance fee, 2,500 won which is more expensive than the Jeju Folklore and Nature History Museum for which it was 2,000 won for entrance. In my opinion, it should be about 500 won to 1,000 won.

Location

It looks like a temple or something like that. And the ticket looks like a bill paper.

The whole place is managed as a park. And there are total 3 buildings, main museum, management booth and the shrine building.

 Let's go further

: If you enter the museum building, you can find many materials about the legend story.

: It includes clothes and tools for the ancestral ritual. At the end, the manager working there suggest you to see a movie about the legend. It's 3D movie, so you are going to wear the classes.

The undesirable traces of the Korean McCarthyism - Jeju Unification Hall

Still in Korea I can hear the words 'redism' or 'following the North Korea'. This idea has been politically exploited. Yes, just several decades ago, by even talking with a North Korean, we could end up in jail. About 30 years ago, I thought N. Korean were beasts....

1

 Not it's just a building

I expected to see something about re-unification of the two Koreas but.... it wasn't... it was about anti-north Korea, anti-communism. I went there because it was very close to the Forklore and Nature History Museum...

Location

As you see below, the statue about the soldiers who fought against the North Korea in Korean war. We call the war 6.25 war because it started on the day of June 25, 1950. And it has been a symbol of the anti-communism.

If the name is about re-unification, it must deal with re-unification of the two Koreas.. but it wasn't... I think this is one of the reasons why people stopped visiting this place.

2

 Now closed...

: Now, you cannot enter the building... it seems to me that it's permanently closed. Behind the building there was a training center for Japanese Sword Arts called 'Geomdo'.

: Jeju has a sad history called 4.3 meaning April 3 when lots of innocent Jeju people were slaughtered... in the name of the anti-redism....

Entrance Fee, just 2,000 won(2USD), worth visiting - Folklore & Natural History Museum of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, Part 5

There are this kind of museums in the other cities around the world. The folk culture and the history of Nature. I think it is really close related with each other.

1

 Just 2,000 won

It's because it is Jeju. If not, it would be for free. And it was very spacious and also big building.

The location

And I entered a small room where there were Jeju's speical things such as Black Pig, Jeju Language and Special House Structure called 'Dottongsi'.

The following is about Jeju Language.

2

 And separated building, maritime...

: Exhibition Hall. So fairly many things were exhibited.... I spent much time in this museum..... comparatively.

: By seeing... there are so many pictures taken... I was alone when I was there... I guess museums are not that popular among Jeju visitors.

: And also there was a special exhibition.

    The location

After Shamanism of Jeju, there were old houses... It's very hard to see those nowadays.

It's is very good opportunity to see how people lived long ago in Jeju...

    2

It's almost like a central museum...

: It has clothes, life tools and so on.... Thinking of it again, it took a while for me to finish the watching... It was spacious and big.

: I expected this posting to end within 3 or 4 parts... but to be within 5 or 6 parts I expect.

: I've just finished the main building... there is another building...
